Founder and Principal Engineer

Medhat Gad is a civil engineer and certified project management professional with more than 36 years in water, wastewater and resource recovery across Canada, the United States, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He has led operations for a utility of more than 360 staff, designed treatment plants from 400 to 700,000 m³/day, and published peer-reviewed research on treatment technology.

His pyrolysis work began in Egypt, where he designed slow-pyrolysis kilns that turn agricultural and forestry residues into charcoal, biochar, wood vinegar and syngas. Bio Terrava brings that experience to Ontario, with engineering delivered under a Certificate of Authorization from Professional Engineers Ontario.
