Bio Terrava Technologies Inc. (“Bio Terrava”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Who is responsible
Bio Terrava Technologies Inc., 399 Warmstone Drive, Stittsville, ON K2S 0W2, Canada. Our privacy contact handles questions and requests at info@bioterrava.com.
What we collect
- Information you give us. When you use the investor or contact form: name, email, organization, role, location, the type of inquiry, an indicative investment size if you choose to share it, and your message.
- Consent records. The date and time you agreed to this policy and, if you opt in, the date you asked to receive project updates.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security. Our forms use a one-way hash of your IP address for up to one hour to stop spam; it is not stored with your inquiry.
- Analytics, only with your permission. If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics records how pages are used. Analytics stays off unless you allow it.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, government identification numbers or banking details through this website.
Why we use it
- To answer your inquiry and arrange calls or meetings.
- To understand whether you are eligible to receive investor materials under Canadian securities law, and to send those materials after a confidentiality agreement.
- To send project updates, only if you opted in. Every update includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud and spam.
- To meet legal, regulatory, accounting and record-keeping obligations.
Consent and withdrawing it
By sending a form you consent to the uses above. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@bioterrava.com; withdrawal does not affect use that already took place, and we may not be able to answer an inquiry without the information it needs.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working, for example to remember your cookie choice. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are set only after you select “Allow analytics”. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- service providers that host the website, deliver email, provide analytics or host a data room, under contracts that require them to protect it;
- our legal, accounting and financial advisers, who are bound by confidentiality;
- a buyer, investor or successor in a financing, merger or sale of the business, under confidentiality;
- authorities, when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Some service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country may be accessible to its courts and authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
Website inquiries are deleted automatically after 24 months unless they become part of an ongoing investor or business relationship. Records that securities, tax or corporate law requires us to keep are kept for the period that law sets.
How we protect it
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrator access and automatic deletion. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, by writing to info@bioterrava.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Visitors from other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local law, and we will honour them where they apply.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the home page.
